We replaced our studio piano to a beautiful 1920's Steinway grand piano a few months ago.
We believe that it is very important to have instruments with great quality for beginners to increase their success and happiness.

piano and guitar recital 2017

It's been a couple weeks already since we had an annual student recital at Shapeshifter Lab, Brooklyn. It was quite successful, and filled with a lot of smiles! We try our best to make student recital as much fun as possible for students and their parents.

A little composer

My little piano student composed his first piano piece by using music notes, theory and rhythms that he learned, at his 5th piano lesson.

I asked him what the title of the piece was. He said "Mississippi River". It sounded smooth, gentle, beautiful, and definitely like a river!

I accompanied him, and recorded it together.

Mozart - music is a lifelong gift

I left most of my old music books in Japan so bought Mozart sonata books in NY for my student who loves Mozart.

I played some pieces that I learned a long time ago, and really enjoyed it. (Mozart is amazing!!)

What I think fantastic about playing pieces learned in the past is just so much fun because you already know the piece and don't need to start over from zero, and may have different aspects of a piece that you did not have in the past and can be exciting discoveries in yourself!

As you grow up, you experience more including good things and bad things, and become mature through it. I believe when you become mature as a person, your musical aspect also would be developed and ripened. Therefore, I say music is definitely a lifelong gift for people.

Music makes you feel good!

Our instructors are in the same band, and performed at one of our favorite restaurants in Brooklyn yesterday.

What I really like being/playing in a band is connections between each members. We listen, trust and help each other, and accomplish the same goal to "make our music awesome and fun" during performances.

We definitely believe that making music with others makes you feel good!
